I began my retail career in department stores in the 80s and found that, more than anything, I liked dressing up for work every day.  During this period, I learned the foundations of dressing well and discovered that I was good at helping other people understand them, too.  Having raced bicycles in the Bay Area for the better part of a decade, I was drawn into the sporting-goods industry, as a clothing buyer, where I learned to meld fabric science and technology with good, old, fashion sense. During this time, I began to see a disturbing trend taking over the clothing industry, the disappearance of the qualified sales person. I moved back into the fashion side when I joined Wilkes Bashford and further refined my knowledge of Men’s clothing from one of the best in the country.

In 2004, my daughter Gabriella was born and I had the opportunity to leave the business world and concentrate on raising her full-time. While spending my days with Gabi, I began to lay the foundation for what would become the mission of Gallo Style Consultants: the idea that less is more, that too much clothing is not a good thing, that too many choices just make you spend too much time in your closet every morning, that if a basic wardrobe is done correctly you will have the best of both worlds — a stylish wardrobe that is easy to wear and easy to put together — a man’s wardrobe.
